PACKING YOURSELF

Office / Den

Great moving and packing yourself tips!

When packing yourself in the office or den, the following free packing tips will be of great value to you.

This is my favorite room to pack. I guess because it is my favorite room in the house. This is where I have all my books, my computer and office equipment. My bookkeeping and business files are here too.

A comfortable chair and reading lamp round out the room.

I am basically a very organized person. When I receive the bank statement, I balance the checkbook asap. That way I know what my financial situation is at all times.

I would like to tell you a little about my office after we cover the packing part on this page.

The moving boxes used here will be mostly 1.5 cube book cartons, dishpacks, and 3 cubes.

Now for packing yourself in the home office or den. This room usually consists of:

* computer and the hardware & software associated with it

* books

* files

* maybe a typewriter, copier, or fax machine

* office supplies

* decor

The following packing tips will guide you when packing yourself in the home office or den.

Computer

If you don't have the original box complete with the packing material that came with it, you will use a dishpack. As with the other rooms, use lots of paper.

The best way to pack this is to put the CPU in one dishpack along with all the cables, wires, speakers, etc. Use lots of paper! A printer, copier or other office hardware may fit on top of the CPU.

The computer monitor will get packed in a different dishpack. You may also put a lamp, knick-knacks, figurines (wrapped with tissue and newsprint), or other breakables in these dishpacks.

Books And Files

All books and files get packed into book cartons. Remember the heavier the item, the smaller the box (yes, I know you're probably getting tired of me saying this! But it's so important). A note here; some file cabinets (especially the wooden ones), aren't strong enough to be moved when they are full of files. You might only have to empty (pack) the top 2-3 drawers. Use common sense here.

Office Supplies And Decor

Usually all the other items will fit easily into 3 cubes, except for wall pictures. Go to PACKING YOURSELF Living Room & Family Room and see the section on Mirrors & Pictures.

TIP: Keep in mind any glassware, ceramics, and electronics should be packed into dishpacks. These moving boxes are heavy duty cartons and made to hold heavy items and protect them against damage.

My Office

Now if you have a minute, I'd like to tell you about my office.

I've had to set up my office quite a few times because of a move. I find the best layout is either "L" shaped or "U" shaped. That way I have everything within reach. And my office chair will easily scoot over to the bookcase or the drawer unit where I keep my copy paper, labels, business and personal checks.

A neat idea I use is 2 two-drawer file cabinets with a heavy duty finished board across the top. The 2 cabinets are spaced apart so that there is room for my office chair (the kneehole). This makes an excellent desk. And any forms, receipts, or files that I might need are close at hand.

We've moved around A LOT. And now I've decided to work smarter, not harder! I love living in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and our home is very remote, we live over 30 miles from town.

With the fuel prices soaring higher and higher it just made sense to try to find some type of work we could do from home. This has been a dream of mine for many years. I've checked out many avenues, only to be disappointed time after time.

Then one day I came across a link for a FREE 10 day e-course offered by Ken Evoy of SiteBuildIt.com about an Affiliate Masters Course. I was curious, so I signed up for it. WOW, Ken really believes in OVER-delivering quality and extensive information!! He writes in an easy to understand manner and is very good at explaining everything.

I never would have thought you could build a website on information!

If you are at all interested in starting your own business from home this is a terrific place to start. Check out affiliatemasterscourse.sitesell.com It's FREE!

To make a long story short --- I followed through with his recommendations and have never looked back !! I love being my own boss and bringing quality information to you, my "moving tips" searcher. So if you'd like more information on how to become your own boss and have your own business, right from your home (no matter where you live), visit buildit .sitesell.com And for a little more information about our story, see our working from home page.

Now let's get back to packing !! And let's Just-Get-Moving !
