MOVING PETS
When moving pets, you must be prepared. Moving is very stressful for pets. On packing and loading days you might want to make arrangements for the pets to be somewhere other than at home. A friend, neighbor, relative, or kennel are good choices, but only if your pet is comfortable there. If that is not an option, a room with a closed door, or backyard may be the best place for ShadowPiper, or Paca. :-)
You will need to have a pet health certificate from your vet. If your pet is traveling with you to your new home, you should plan ahead to make sure pets are permitted at the motels you may be staying at. Be sure to have their food, water, medicines, and a leash somewhere where it will not be packed by mistake. See the moving checklist named . Assign a "Safe Zone" to put all items that are going with you. TIP: Have a new pet tag made up with your new address and contact information in case your pet gets lost on the way to your new home. Or even after you get TO your new home. Upon arrival at your new home, be sure to give your pet time to learn that this is where they live now. You would not want your pet to get lost. Break them in gradually. Check out these websites for additional information when you are moving with pets:
