HOUSEHOLD MOVING CHECKLIST FOR SELF-MOVERS

A great start to the household moving checklist. If you're a self-mover check this out.

Review this moving list after your packing is finished and then again after the house is empty. And feel free to add more to this list if you like.

* WHEN YOU THINK THE MAJORITY OF THE PACKING IS DONE, CHECK ALL CLOSETS, CABINETS, AND DRAWERS TO BE SURE YOU DIDN'T MISS ANYTHING. THEN YOU CAN CROSS THIS ITEM OFF :-)

* PUT A BOX OF BAKING SODA IN REFRIGERATOR AND ONE IN THE FREEZER

* CHECK ALL ROOMS TO BE SURE EVERYTHING IS PACKED AND LOADED INTO TRUCK OR TRAILER

* CHECK ALL WINDOWS AND DOORS TO BE SURE THEY'RE LOCKED

* TURN IN ALL KEYS AND/OR GARAGE DOOR OPENERS

* HAVE ANOTHER PERSON DOUBLE CHECK THE HOUSE (OR APT.) TO MAKE SURE NOTHING HAS BEEN MISSED

* MAKE SURE NO PETS ARE HIDING IN THE HOUSE. MOVING IS STRESSFUL FOR PETS AND THEY MAY TRY TO STAY AT THEIR OLD HOME

When you're moving yourself, it's easy to get into too much of a rush. Take your time and be sure to review all your household moving checklists.

Also be sure to take great care in protecting all your belongings with blankets and furniture pads. Likewise for all items packed in boxes, make sure boxes are full and everything inside is wrapped and protected.
