This is the very FIRST time I have ever asked for a donation. Please understand, it is not for me, it's for the children.
When We Arrived On The Scene
My husband and I moved to the Pacific Northwest in the Spring of 1990.
It was at that time that a lot of lumber mills started closing down. There were many people who found themselves unemployed. And a lot of these people didn't know any other employable skills.
Government Help
The government stepped in and increased the length of time these jobless people could collect unemployment benefits. The government also offered the opportunity for these unemployed to get the education to qualify them for a new and different job.
Other Businesses, Too
There were also many other businesses down-sizing and laying off employees. Maybe the Pacific Northwest wasn't the hardest hit, but it seemed like it to us.
We Stepped Up To The Plate
We tried to help by hiring and teaching the young men and women (they had to be at least 18 years old) about the moving business. I'm pleased to tell you we helped a LOT of these young people!
We also tried to buy everything locally, to support our local businesses. But even to this day many small towns in this area are depressed.
My Website
After creating this, my first website, it dawned on me that this just might be the perfect vehicle to collect donations to help some under privileged kids here in the Pacific Northwest.
It seems the kids always suffer when parents and families don't have enough money to give the children what they want and need. And one of the saddest situations is when these families can't even afford the medical insurance they need to cover themselves and their children.
So my goal is to collect funds to give to needy children here in the northwest. I have already started an account with my own money. And I promise to manage and distribute this money to those who need it most. I also plan to donate 10% of my internet income to this fund.
An Application Form
Needy families with children may contact us with a request for a Helping Hand via the FORM below. We will then review these requests and make a donation to one family per month (to start with). Later, if funds grow large enough, we will increase the amount of the donation (right now the limit is $100.00). We will also increase the number of recipients per month.
Now It's Your Turn
Now it's up to you. If you would like to be a part of this Helping Hand, please click the PayPal button to make your tax deductible donation.
If you'd rather mail your donation, please send it to: Helping Hand, C/O RJR, Inc 1102 N Springbrook Rd., Suite #245, Newberg, OR 97132
ANY amount you donate is GREATLY APPRECIATED! If you can find it in your heart to make a contribution to our cause, there will be a child or children happier and healthier than they were yesterday.
Thank You
I am starting a "Thank You" section where I will list your first name and city, if you choose to be included there. But if you'd rather not be named, you can just be an anonymous contributor. Just include your preference to be included in my "Thank You" section when you send your donation. Also include a short note or story you'd like to relay to the public.
Thank you in advance and may God bless you for your generosity!

Or better yet, just click on the orange XML RSS button on the left side of our pages. You can also click on the "What's an RSS feed?" if you don't know about RSS yet. Once you get started, it's like having your favorite parts of the Web come to you. No need to go out and check for updates all the time.
"RSS" means "Really Simple Syndication." What it means to you is that when you subscribe to a site that has an RSS feed, you can keep up-to-date without having to check the site every day or week. The updates come to YOU!
My website is still quite young, but I'm hoping to get an E-zine up and running soon. By subscribing to it, you will receive a monthly e-magazine delivered right to your in-box. It will feature many helpful tips and updates about our website.
